Those who deny the man made causes of climate change use the same arguments that the tobacco industry used to deny that cigarette smoking increased lung cancer. The fossil fuel industries are just like the Tabasco industry. Deny the problem, claim scientsts are split on the evidence when in fact only a tiny minority of scientists, usually paid for by the industry, disagree. Put out marketing campaigns that talk about the potential loss of jobs versus the billions of dollars and thousands of lives negatively affected. When industry had its way, we had air you couldn't breathe and water that was undrinkable. It wasn't industry that led the way to clean up our environment. They had to be forced into it by laws. Left to their own devices, corporations will do whatever maximizes their profits. They have little concern with things like the environment.

LTC (Join to see) coal not cold. While we cut back on call and we refuse to build pipelines east or west in Canada, or south, we are exporting millions of tons of coal to countries like China, the Philippines and Japan. I know this sounds like whataboutism. I just want to compare and contrast our policy is not uniform and some of those who signed the Kyoto Accords are being hypocrites

She has a climate change agenda and was asking for social license by putting carbon taxes. Now that the courts have blocked the pipeline and the federal government's not pursuing it without any appeal, this Governor or Premier says forget it, game over. She can't get the pipeline build, they can't afford to pay for the carbon taxes.

In Canada, just like with the US, the outer provinces are progressive and the central provinces are generally conservative. My Province voted in a socialist out of protest and got rid of a conservative leadership that had been there since 1972. Still, this socialists is upset because the federal government went out on helping her with the pipeline West through Zealot green British Columbia. Though she's a socialist herself, she's really pissed off that she can't pay for climate change if she can't get her pipeline.

LTC (Join to see) damn voice text the Socialists provincial Governor is upset because the federal government will not appeal the lower Court's ruling that her pipeline West through British Columbia can't be built due to Native issues and other environmental concerns. She basically is saying no way, if you can't find my pipeline, forget about the carbon tax plan.

About 12 years ago my homeowners insurance policy was cancelled due to climate change. In the letter of cancellation it stated there will be larger, stronger and more frequent hurricanes. Seriously, it actually stated that. It was hard to get coverage for about the next 5 years as every major insurance company would not issue homeowners policies in my area. Even had to spend one year on the fairly expensive State coverage.
In the past 12 years we have seen 1 tropical storm that dumped a lot of rain for 3 days because it was so slow moving. It was centered out over the gulf and just hit us with bands of rain. Then last year we had Irma at Category 1.

Thank you for validating this! The survey was done for Canada which put egg on the face of climate change people. Insurers will still have to keep money put aside for contingencies. Didn't the worst hurricane was not Hurricane Camille in 1969 which is about as bad as hurricane that hit New Orleans in 2005?
