This is why I love VA and living in 2nd Amendment friendly states. There is no need to justify the need for a CCP. A background check and training is all that is required. The second amendment is justification enough for carry friendly states.

I'm sorry, but if we let you protect yourself, than everybody is going to want to protect themselves and we just can't have that. (I hope you can hear the sound of sarcasm dripping from my voice) NJ is wrong.

If memory serves me right New Jersey has no reciprocal recognition of other states weapons permits. I have travelled through NJ carry my CCW pistol, luckly I wasn't stopped.

SFC (Join to see) - luckily. NJ thugs and mobsters carry concealed all the time, so something is broken in Hoboken...

CPO Andy Carrillo, MS maybe the state doesn't want to infringe on the well established community groups that provide protection for a fee...
This was an attempt at humor, hard to get the Tony Soprano accent to come through the keyboard.
I am amazed and the thought processes of some of the areas of this country. It seems like the areas with the worse crime rates are the areas with the most restrictive weapons laws. If the local law enforcement cannot protect the citizens, the legislature should provide some measure of self protection. Then again, I guess when you have a body guard, protection isn't as much of an issue.

Better yet, we should adopt the Second Amendment philosophy as intended. I'll summarize in layman's terms:
It's none of government's business how or what I choose to use to protect myself, my family, and my property from those who would attempt to harm us.
Let's not forget the four key words ending the amendment: "shall not be infringed."
