Although "Boys" was one of the few accurate RVN movies.....no this mild mannered song didn't do anything for me, sounds like hootnanny, Joan Baez, shit. My soundtrack while there was more electric, rock n roll, crazy "Street fightin man" Despite being in a tank Company, I usually had my reel to reel in the rear loaded up with 8 hours of Rolling Stones that was switched on the minute we rolled into the tank park.

SGT Perdella-Torres I do remember the movie not so much the song, but my memories of Vietnam are set off by different things, the smell of wood smoke brings back the villages we searched, the sound of news helicopters, resupply and dust off choppers, fireworks on the 4th of July are tough that's the sound of gunfire from the tree line and lastly the sound of rain on the roof at night knowing I don't have to go on ambush patrols in the rain any more they were hairy.

SGT Perdella -Torres -I have a funny aside to your post concerning songs that bring back memories,I do remember two songs that if I heard them again would bring back a flood of old Vietnam flashbacks,it seems one of the guys in my platoon received two small tapes and a battery powered player the songs were"Snoopy vs the Red Baron" and "Winchester Chathedral" how's that for golden oldies.

One of the "joys" of aging, am I right?
I have loss of hearing from military service, not enough to qualify me for a claim- aren't I lucky?

SGT Jose Perdelia-Torres, I think mine came mostly from the firing range. We didn't wear hearing protection in those days, and I still have constant tones in my ears. The hearing aids help, but they eat batteries like candy so I only turn them on when I need to hear something.
