Good, Saturday morning, Burroughs Posse Leader... I slept in today, so cutting this short so I can go shower & have breakfast... More to follow, shortly! ...and I am back... LOL!

It is: “Far Away Day!” Why Not?

"He who lives in our mind is near though he may actually be far away; but he who is not in our heart is far though he may really be nearby." - Chanakya

"Even though the future seems far away, it is actually beginning right now." - Mattie Stepanek

"Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead." - Louisa May Alcott

"A friend who is far away is sometimes much nearer than one who is at hand. Is not the mountain far more awe-inspiring and more clearly visible to one passing through the valley than to those who inhabit the mountain?" - Khalil Gibran

"Man goes far away or near but God never goes far-off; he is always standing close at hand, and even if he cannot stay within he goes no further than the door." - Meister Eckhart

"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away." - Henry David Thoreau

As one continues on the path of life, remember that...

"Great leaders are never far away from the action, they are leading the action.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect that you have near to long term plans and that you have invested time and resources into the future. Hopefully you have put a lot of thought into distributing your resources including knowledge to those you lead and who rely on your judgement and advice – whether near or far – in preparation for change in leadership by retirement as well as death. No doubt you are grateful for your eternal salvation, by God’s plan and grace. And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,’ [Ephesians 2: 17-20 ESV] my brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see).

Open our eyes dear LORD. Guide us to see what we need to read and recall in YOUR Word daily as we walk through our life of faith in YOU. I am beyond grateful that YOU are closer than a brother and never far away from any of YOUR own adopted sons and daughters. By YOUR grace, Holy Spirit YOU dwell with the soul of each of us as YOU sanctify, comfort, admonish and sometimes chastise us. 'But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. 'For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.' [Matthew 13:16-17 ESV]
I pray for discernment and a sufficient increase of Fruit of the Spirit peace, patience and self-control for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer or listens to it dear LORD. LORD YOU alone know the future for each of us individually and corporately. YOU prepare us for future issues we each will face through sanctifying us in tests, facing unforeseen issues, and increasing challenges. I pray that we each submit our plans to YOU and that we respond as quickly as we can to YOUR guidance. YOUR sheep know YOUR voice. ‘Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.’ [Proverbs 19:21 ESV]
I lift caregivers for disabled individuals including veterans, caregivers for aging relatives, caregivers for recovering patients, and parents of school age children to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU bless each caregiver with endurance to do good, compassion as they care for those under their charge, and adult fellowship to encourage them through the challenges they face. Guide parents to make wise decisions about the education and training of their children. “But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.’ [Ephesians 5:13-16 ESV]
Remember the admonition of the LORD in these challenging times as government officials change guidance weekly: 'Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” [James 4:13-15]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Saturday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Sunday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good morning, Colonel. "Far away", makes me think about absentee leaders. I have had both in my life and can say that the ones who were present were the ones I could follow without hesitation. But there is another way of seeing "Far away", one that is between what God plans and what I want to do. Sometimes I want to be far away from what I know I should do because it means some discomfort to me. But God is the Supreme leader, not only is He ever present but He also hardly ever seen. Yet, His will is paramount.

Isn't that the truth SSG Samuel Kermon. So, so true. Kind of reminds me of a statement made on a M*A*S*H episode where Major Charles Emerson Winchester III says to Hawkeye he was jealous of him because he had such a close relationship with his father and he (Winchester) said he could be 10,000 miles from his father in the same room.
