I grew up watching his Young Peoples Concerts. He expanded my already deep love of music. I think the greatest concert was when he and Louis Armstrong played at the Lewisohn Stadium. W.C. Handy the Composer of the Song St. Louis Blues was in the audience to listen to the New York Philharmonic under the baton of Bernstein, and Sachmo and his All Stars played Handy's immortal St Louis Blues. It was a Concert to remember. I am glad I have a recording of it.
