As read this, I thought about all the silly things I thought were "deep thought" from puberty to about 17.

_Is the static on the radio really aliens trying to communicate with us?
_If a person is a phony all the time, is phony what they really are and if they got real would they still be phony, because they weren't being themselves.
_Why aren't there the same number of hot dogs in a pack as hot dog buns in a pack?
_How do you explain red to someone who is blind?

This author never outgrew that nonsense. So now I have a new deeper philosophical question I like to ponder:

Why is it that the people who believe "...a life unexamined is not worth living.", are the most miserable, soul sucking SOB's to be around?

"You have your 4 levels of health- the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual." - I heard that before and also think that is the case. thanks for the share. I'm not very religious and I think science and religion can exist together and that the statement gives the reason. I see people that lack spirituality as tending to believe that they are the king that the world is theirs. I think religion for example tends to have people believe in something other than themself

I think a life altering event forces us to look within and without. Religion and spirituality are not the same things and his point that one size does not fit all is valid. It is difficult to say that humanity for the past 60,000 years has all gone to hell because they weren't aware of Allah, Jesus or any other supreme being. Being enlightened to the immense possibility of life in the cosmos is as good as a 3 mile hike with my dogs in the woods. Do we have a soul? Or is life for us the time we have here? Those are bigger questions!
