I had to invoke reader view and then refresh the page, to get around the paywall and read the whole thing. It supports my thought of a never ending CR to stop pork barrel spending and put an end to the threat of Gov't shutdown. the article states that the last time we had a real budget was in 1996. almost 30 years of this fiscal irresponsibility at this point, and the deficit keeps growing.

SGM Erik Marquez - That would get their attention. I'd also like a law that says if they don't pass a budget they immediately lose their seats, become ineligible to serve again, and special elections are called to fill their seats.

You would think these people would have better sense. I bought something online a couple of weeks ago for around $60 and the bank bombarded me with offers to pay the bill in 4 easy payments. It's rediculous. If you think about it even teenagers are encouraged to use credit. No wonder Congress is so irresponsible.
