It's absurd. Maybe we should stop their pay until they pass an actual budget?

That won't make a difference. Most are already millionaires, and those who aren't can just live off their political donations. They are protected from any adverse impact of not being paid.

LTC Kevin B. - Too bad we can not fine them $500,000 a day until a budget is passed, the can resign, accept the fine, pass a budget

SGM Erik Marquez - That would get their attention. I'd also like a law that says if they don't pass a budget they immediately lose their seats, become ineligible to serve again, and special elections are called to fill their seats.

LTC Kevin B. - The issue is the people that are needed to make this happen are the same that are targeted. >> Same as term limits, financial transpanency, recusual from trading on insider knoldge.

You would think these people would have better sense. I bought something online a couple of weeks ago for around $60 and the bank bombarded me with offers to pay the bill in 4 easy payments. It's rediculous. If you think about it even teenagers are encouraged to use credit. No wonder Congress is so irresponsible.
