The F-35 may be heading into its faceoff with the A-10 this April
I understand its an older platform, with associated issues and costs, but by all accounts, it excels in its role. So while its outside the Army's core competencies to do this, should the A-10 just be transferred to the Army, and cut out all the B.S.?
Ground troops get Brrrrrt; Air Force gets shiny toy. Win-win.

"The Air Force would have control of all strategic air assets, and most tactical and logistic functions as well."
But we have "strategic air assets" that perform "tactical and logistic functions" already that are both rotary and fixed wing assets.
