Thank you for sharing. Too often, our bravest heroes are dismissed by pencil pushing nimrods who have no understanding of what real heroes are like. I knew of a WWII navy corpsman who served with G/2/5 on Peleliu and Okinawa. Up until he passed in 2010, he was still writing letters to the VA letting them know that the hearing loss suffered by Marines was real as they had no hearing protection then, nor could they have time to put it on when attacked. VA didn't understand that there was no hearing protection in 1944-45. Mental midgets. Can't fix stupid.
