If you're planning on settling down somewhere, consider carefully before you get tied to a place. My wife and I, now retired, could move anywhere but are "tied" to California by family bonds. As a result, we are shackled to a high cost of living, exorbitant costs for house, and outrageous levels of taxation (with a government looking for more as they spend like drunken sailors - wait, no, that's an insult to drunken sailors)

CPT Jack Durish Sir, yes it would an insult sailor "drunken or not" LOL! We like money drunk or sober and hate when people take it and waste it on things like say "studying crayfish / shrimp on treadmills." I like my shrimp plump so exercising them does not make much sense! LoL
Seriously, we really need to get a grip on taxes in this nation and cut the crap. What we need is a balance budget amendment nationally and at state levels in ALL 50 states. The American people need to call for a national PUBLIC audit of all governmental levels.
Then we need to prosecute every politician that has spent more than 10 cents in an improper manner. Seems like a website consolidating by state the "political" tax cheats makes sense.
Finally, told my wife if she passes before me, I am selling it all and moving to Fiji or Belize. Gonna hang out on the beach, fish, and hang out on the beach some more. My continue to write short stories and poems. Will just need good internet. Who knows, might just buy and RV and hit the road. Who knows, might stop by to have a beer with you. What do you think! Besides, my son lives in NC. I'll always have an anchor point!
Figured taxes are a way serious issue, and I have been serious enough the last week. Just need to be light, and you gave me the perfect forum to do that. Thank you!
