You can shoot down an F-35 with a 7.62mm round while the A-10 can withstand a 23mm hit. The A10 has 1200 rounds of 30mm canon not 250 rounds of 25mm. A-10 can dwell for 2 hours.F35 can't do that. This competition is a joke! What is not funny is many pilots, Marines and Army troops on the ground will be dying soon due to this shortfall if the A-10 is retired to Davis Montham AFB.

That is why I nickname it the Junk Strike Fighter..I learned the term from a guy a decade ago who called GM 'junk motors' LOL.
