I have read about this Dunkirk Miracle since I was in elementary school. I have seen videos here and there over the decades but this new movie is awesome. In the 1960s, we have the Spanish Air Force remake the Battle of Britain with their he-111 medium bombers still being used and the hispano-suiza powered me-109 licensed and Spanish build Fighters. These planes are few and far between now so I'm sure CGI will help a lot.

Here is a surreal scene in Dunkirk where soldiers are hanging out awaiting rescue while they're at the carnival and dealing with Logistics issues. It's sad to see these horses being shot in the head so the enemy wouldn't get them

They had on the average more flight hours than anyone in the RAF and more combat hours also. the Brits were just listening to their prejudices too intently

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - yes racism among ethnicities even if they're all white just the racism among or ethnic discrimination and you're right a lot of experience fighting the Germans beforehand.

LTC (Join to see) - I do not think it was racism, just a blind-spot caused by a assumption of superiority in military skills by a nation with a great past. Hubris more than bigotry.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - Not racism but a cultural prejudice. Hubris fits well but a hubris based on an assumption of superiority is still prejudice, just not RACIAL prejudice.
