Internal CONUS operations are, quite literally, what the National Guard is for. This might be the first time they're doing what they're supposed to be doing. NG in CONUS makes sense. NG OCONUS does not.

CW3 Kevin Storm - Ah, yes, when all of the Active Duty folks were busy deploying OCONUS to war zones...
Do you have a CURRENT example though? Your comment makes it seem like it's something happening right now....

SFC Michael Hasbun & SFC Kelly Fuerhoff Sorry for the long post, as this is not easily defined.

Here are some stats, as to which bases were guarded remains classified for obvious reasons. This report to Congress in 2005 sheds some light on Reserve support to Operation Nobel Eagle (ONE), Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF): Between September 11, 2001 and February 16, 2005, a total of 477,709
reservists (which includes the National Guard) were involuntarily called to active
duty under federal orders for ONE, OEF, and OIF. Of these, 179,445 were serving
on active duty as of February 16, 2005, while 298,264 had been demobilized prior
to that date after completing their tours.7 Note, however, that the total mobilization
and demobilization figures count reservists more than once if they have been
mobilized more than once. The total number of individuals mobilized is therefore lower than stated above, and probably by a significant margin due to the number of
people who have been called up more than once.8
Also, some members of the National Guard have been called up to perform
duties related to ONE in a non-federal status. Additionally, in 2001 and 2002,
thousands of members of the National Guard were activated at the order of their
respective governors to provide additional security at airports. They were called up
under Title 32 of the U.S. Code, which means they were under state control, but with
federal pay and benefits.10 These distinctions have a significant bearing on the type
of pay, benefits, and legal protections to which the affected individuals are entitled.

(note from CW3 Storm, this can have a huge impact on people when they may not be getting the same pay and benefits as their active counterparts).

National Guard units are still doing rotation in Kosovo, Army Reserve spent a year in Poland in 2020

Military support. The National Guard also plays a crucial role in supporting U.S. military operations [PDF] overseas. Since 9/11, more than one million National Guard members have deployed to theaters including Iraq and Afghanistan. Members of the Guard have fought in nearly every U.S. conflict since the Revolutionary War. Roughly thirty thousand are deployed around the world on any given day.
Ref: https://www.cfr.org/backgrounder/unique-military-force-us-national-guard

So we still have around 30,000 troops deployed, that is an estimated Corp of people deployed. For 2021 Seven brigades will rotate to replace other brigades. One of the brigades being relieved, is a National Guard Brigade in Kuwait. The active duty has a 450,000 +/- size force, and yet it needs to siphon 30,000 form the Guard to perform its duties? Sorry I don't buy it. Domestic operations are one thing, combat another, peace keeping is something else that should remain on the AD IMHO. https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2020/04/24/seven-unit-rotations-to-afghanistan-iraq-and-europe-announced/

I don't know about the AD not doing anything but the Guard (and the Reserve) seem to be out doing things they were never intended to do.

Just a warning to those soldiers who enlist for the NG or go there after serving on active duty. We have had enough of UNDECLARED and unjust wars.

President Bush and seven of his administration's top officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, made at least 935 false statements in the two years following September 11, 2001, about the national security threat posed by Saddam Hussein's Iraq was part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses.

Prosecution of George W. Bush et. al. for War Crimes
WHEREAS there is overwhelming evidence that President George W. Bush and et. al. (his direct subordinates) committed war crimes,

WHEREAS international law requires the United States government to prosecute all war crimes committed by US persons; for example, torture, ghost prisoners, secret jails, used depleted uranium weapons that poisoned the battlefield and civilians for many years following the warfare, and making war on Iraq without a UN resolution,

WHEREAS President Bush et al, ordered the kidnapping of an estimated 150 people from foreign nations (aka “extraordinary rendition”) and delivering them for interrogation by nations having a well documented history of torture,

WHEREAS, Regarding Iraq, the last Security Council resolution essentially said, “Look, send the weapons inspectors out to Iraq, have them come back and tell us what they've found -- then we'll figure out what we're going to do.” But without permission/vote of the UN Security Council, the US invaded Iraq and in so doing the US did unprovoked or "aggressive" war, the highest crime against mankind,

WHEREAS President Bush and seven of his administration's top officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, made at least 935 false statements in the two years following September 11, 2001, about the national security threat posed by Saddam Hussein's Iraq,

WHEREAS If George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, and others are not prosecuted US government leaders in the future will not fear any personal consequences for going to war without a declaration by Congress,

WHEREAS the claim that the President, as commander-in-chief, can exercise the unlimited powers of a king or dictator strikes at the very heart of our democracy and the rule of law requires a rejection of impunity for the criminal acts of government officials,

WHEREAS 6,900 and approximately 7,800 contractors were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan at the end of 2018, 52,010 wounded in action, and this number does not included are those “non-hostile injuries” and other medical problems such as heat stroke, suicide attempts, respiratory problems, and vehicle crashes,

WHEREAS 970,000 disability claims registered with the VA,

WHEREAS these wars have been paid for almost entirely by borrowing, therefore including the predicted interest payments, the total cost will be over $6 trillion by the 2050s,

WHEREAS more than 480,000 people have been killed by direct war violence in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan and over 8.4 million Afghans, Pakistanis, and Iraqis are living as war refugees in other countries or are displaced from their homes,

WHEREAS every segment of the US electorate–including majorities of Democrats (82 percent), independents (62 percent), and Republicans (51 percent) — want to hold the Bush administration accountable for its role in the destruction of the CIA’s interrogation tapes and the use of torture by the agency,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED we demand the US Justice Department prosecute of George W. Bush et. al. for war crimes,
