The Navy’s broken ships of 2017 are coming back to life; here’s how its going

To maintain a certain level of readiness requires equipment and ships to remain operational and not fall below acceptable levels. We can ill afford to allow this to happen even if and when newer vessels become available. Manpower to operate what We have safely and not overwork people or equipment can't be overlooked and it seems often is. The results can't be expected to be good when that is allowed to happen. Also if there is nothing in Reserve there is also nothing to fall back on until things are fixed or replaced on any mishaps or unplanned losses.
