It's part of the Constitution. The founders added a suitable procedure to make changes if necessary. The rest is nothing more a tool for some elected officials to make political gain.

Many people are not "dangerous" and should be able to apply for reinstatement

The problem is. Who is it that makes that determination. If it's my Commie neighbor then we're all "dangerous" to her. She's the nut case casterating little boys and convincing little girls to take drugs that will prevent them from ever having children but "we" are the dangerous ones!

No I mean anyone that has been deemed dangerous and has had their 2A rights rescinded. If they're too dangerous to have a gun, they're too dangerous to be walking around in society, they should be behind bars. Oh, wait, they're not too dangerous for society? Then get out of their lives with your anti 2A BS. Ayn Rand said the only people the government can control are criminals, so they just make more criminals to get control.

I think all who “did their time” should have access to their Constitutional rights.
