And this dovetails nicely with the other Thread on Peaceful (and sometimes not so peaceful) protests. Not all wars are just, and not all wars are justified. I forget the lady who said it, but it goes like this:
"All Evil needs to succeed is for good people to do nothing." And from Nuremberg taught us the danger of: "I was just following orders."
And we lose the very kind of youth both in battle and in protest, that we need to grow stronger.

Credit for the quote goes to Edmund Burke, in 1770.

1SG (Join to see) - Thanks Top! You would think since I have a degree in History, I would have remembered that. I think I got confused thinking it was a lady who said it, because I think it was a woman who made the quote: "The banality of Evil." and I kind of combined the two.

SGT Kevin Hughes - It was repeated in a JFK speech many years later. That is where most contemporary memories of that quote originate.

Impressive group, even more so when you know history and can look back at what they did.
