So Ted Cruz blocked all State Dept nominations out of spite because of the Iran deal. He led the push for shutting down the government when he didnt get his way on the budget. This guy has no interest in actually governing. He wants to have everything his way or else grind the government to a halt, no matter who gets hurt in the process. What an ass.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS - You think this had anything to do with it? Estrada formally endorsed U.S. Senator Barack Obama for President of the United States during a rally at Battery Creek High School in Beaufort, South Carolina on January 24, 2008.[11] On August 28, 2008, Estrada spoke at the Democratic National Convention, echoing his support for Barack Obama over John McCain, citing his "obligation... to protect the Marines, sailors and their families."

I am not sure what he means by protecting Marines and Sailors by supporting Obummer over McCain?

SFC William Farrell Ambassadors are political appointees. Of course they have political opinions. However, you asked about "record" initially, which SgtMaj Estrada has.

You and I both have political opinions, and our chances of getting appointed by a President who was not of similar ilk is minimal. However, political leanings are only one part of the equation, and that's why we have the Advice & Consent requirement in the Constitution, to ensure there are qualifications to match them.
