This was character assassination of the worst sort. As am admiral, and a doctor he has little recourse against a senator and the media to defend himself against these allegation. His career is likely on hold and will end earlier than he planned all because he was nominated top serve by President Trump. You can have a fair discussion about qualification or fitness for the office etc. but this may go down in history of one of the worst hit jobs of all time and that is saying something.

The Dems are perfecting this fine art. Preparing for the Midterms. Here's a little history on Dr Pena, VP Pence's doctor that is at the heart of this smear campaign. How these people get into these positions is beyond me.

CMSgt (Join to see) - I'm not going to disagree with you. I have become increasingly pissed of with Democrats lately with all these stunts they have been pulling. But I was also pissed off at Republicans for pulling similar bullshit during Obama's 8 years in office. We've gotten to the point that neither party really gives a shit about anything except making it as difficult as possible for the other party to do their jobs. A problem that has been getting increasingly worse over the last 20 plus years.
Honestly, I am disgusted by all of them. My only hope is that everyone sees what their elected officials are doing and try to vote in more moderate politician in the future. The moderates, whether their moderate republicans, democrats or independents have shown they are the only ones really trying to work together, and even then it's only on a few things.
I am tired of political parties, I am tired of the fighting, I am tired of the obstruction, I am tired of them splitting this country in half not for the betterment of those who elected them, but for their party.
I kind of just want to tear them all down and start fresh.

I agree. The GOP was guilty of similar tactics during the Obama years and both parties seem hell bent on doubling down. But this crap with Jackson was criminal. Just when I think DC cannot get worse...it gets worse. I'm hoping Trump can fix some of this but he's outnumbered at every turn. I also agree that until both parties move to the middle will continue to have chaos.

CMSgt (Join to see) - I think the Admiral should have weathered it. It's all coming out as bullshit propaganda. I am not happy that he got smeared, but I am also happy that he was weeded out. If a man will not stand and fight for himself, there is no hope he will fight for us. I want a fighter, someone who will stand up to the propaganda machine and the bureaucrats, someone who will clean house and make the necessary changes that benefit all veterans. As it turns out, Jackson was none of those. He may have been a great doctor and Naval Admiral, but he would have made a poor administrator to hundreds of thousands of veterans.

Politics are ugly. Let’s not pretend this isn’t on both sides or even that it’s not veterans doing it to other veterans. Anyone recall swiftboating? We do seem to get up in arms when it’s happening to someone we like but are able to ignore it when happening to someone we disagree with.

I'm with you on that, not wise to bad mouth a person that didn't deserve the rotten treatment.
