Too many inconsistencies in his story for me to trust him along with his behavior in attempting to hide his background on the Internet after his public speech. He says in his biography that he moved from Pakistan to the UAE to earn money to migrate to the United States, then says he arrived empty handed in the United States (inconsistency there). He was a trained lawyer before he left for the UAE and his wife studied and can speak Farsi. So I wonder what they did in the UAE all those years (had three kids there in the UAE), if he arrived empty handed who paid for the bills for the kids while in the UAE?. No explanation along with no real detail on why he left Pakistan in the first place or what his activities were there before he left. Why did his wife choose to study Persian (Farsi) in Pakistan if they intended to leave for the United States? Some of the bio of the Khans is missing or is vague. We know all the bio of Donald Trump. Normally our National Media as reporters should attempt to fill in the gaps but in this case they didn't.
Did Trump have the right to fire back?.........absolutely. The Khans choose the rules of engagement which was launching an attack speech from a highly partisan political convention. Trump was fully within his rights to get upset and fire back. He could have been more graceful but the attack on him was anything but graceful.

SPC Erich Guenther - The problem isn't what Khan stated, the problem is Trump's reaction. Any character assassination of Khan won't change the fact that Trump doesn't seem to be in control of his impulses.

The first he is pointing out a potential cultural difference and I have to say with Pakistani's.......if you ever spent time around the culture. That is valid in some Pakistani households. Liberals attributing that to a insult tells me they are not as multi-cultural as they claim. Second quote though not artfully said is probably correct to an extent. Unbeknownst to you, nobody speaks on the platform of the DNC or RNC unless their speech is reviewed first. So on the second comment I could see maybe a partial insult there but since the speech was preapproved......not as deep as you took it. Trump's attempt to point out the Speech was prepared and reviewed / approved first vs being off the cuff.
Neither instance qualifies as Character Assassination and both I think were fairly mild compared to what came out of Khan's mouth. Character Assassination means he attacked the mans integrity or ethics and he did neither. Nor did he mention the guy was a immigration lawyer which was on public display shortly after the speech and Trump could have used it.....but did not.

I wonder if he will be in the limelight for a while; I am beginning to think so. Would be quite interesting if he does.
