I rarely watch military films, but the one thing that always pisses me off is the "unlimited ammo gun". Once I see a scene where they continue to fire and fire and fire w/o reloading, i just can't get back into the movie.

PO3 Ricky Foster I find it just as annoying when the only time they do run out is when it serves to advance the plot. The hero of the movie has plot armor and a plot gun, unless there is a plot twist that punctures it. The guy who fires a thousand rounds through his M-16, then runs out when the enemy is yards away, so he switches to his trusty 1911 and fires another 40 rounds, only to run out when there is one enemy left, which must be killed in melee combat with a bayonet. UGH!!!

PO3 Steven Sherrill - So you're the guy who writes those scenes in. You've probably ruined a ton of movies.

PO3 Ricky Foster, I don't watch them period. My wife wanted to see Hacksaw Ridge, and the advertisements didn't look too bad, so I agreed. About 3/4 through it, I broke down and cried like a baby on my wife's shoulder. Luckily there wasn't anyone sitting close to us. It took me three or four days to get over it. I still try not to think about the scenes. I picked up on those two scenes that were fake.

Another pet peeve in movies and real life is the crooked gig line. I'm always noticing that. My wife thinks I'm more nuttier than I am. LOL

I think the scene in " Platoon " where Charlie Sheen's character is on night perimeter watch and is dealing with the rain, mosquitos trying not to fall asleep green towel over his head was a flash back moment for me when I first saw this movie, and then throwing in the multiple squeezing of the "clackers "for the claymore mines you only got that right if you used them,Oliver Stone did serve in Vietnam so I guess he got a lot of the technical parts correct.

Quick overview on Hacksaw Ridge: I hate that you know that Keith- and sympathize with you.

The rest I agree with completely.

Thanks Tom. I hate that I know about it too. I better stop or I'll have a relapse.
