If they built the Death Star like they did the F-35 program, they would rush to put the Death Star design approved by the president of the Sith Council before all the bugs were worked out of the Prototype. Then it would be 8 years and 165 billion dollars over budget. It would probably blow itself up trying to take out a planet because of defects and Design. It would not blow up due to Rebellion shooting into its exhaust port. It would blow up because it was poorly designed
