This MCU Phase 5 Theory Will Change Everything

Marvel Studios has revealed their plans for the next few years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as they presented their phase 4 lineup at the recent San Diego Comic-Con event. But one has to wonder what type of a story phase 4 will be setting up. After all, phase 3 has concluded the Infinity Saga and it makes sense that phase 4 will start a whole new MCU saga.

We believe that there’ll be a few things that’ll happen in phase 5 that might change the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever and that’s the multiverse. The multiverse has been playing a huge role in recent years in Marvel comics, and it makes sense if many of those stories will eventually be adapted to the big screen. One such story is 2015's Secret Wars. A story that had multiple Earth’s and universes across the multiverse collide, as we saw different versions of heroes and villains battle it out on Battleworld.

The Russo brothers have expressed an interest in directing a Secret Wars movie in the future and, considering their success, there’s no doubt that the movie will happen sooner rather than later. And we believe that phase 4 will set the multiverse up in the MCU, eventually leading to a Secret Wars crossover event. We think that the Quantum Realm will come into play as heroes from another Earth will use it to travel between universes and those heroes might actually be the Fantastic 4.
