While I support recruiting from MP’s , I think the training on State and locals laws and procedures should be longer.

Absolutely as the rules of engagement and deadly force are very different and not to mention the state and local laws, traffic laws. I could understand the physical training portion would probably be no problem to transition the MP, and lastly if they suffered any PTSD or other military issues they need to be addressed and screened.

I've also seen a good many states frequently need prison guard staff, one tends to wonder if city, state, and Federal corrections spots might also be suited to such quicker transition stuff...just another thought...then, too, there's all the Homeland stuff, ICE, TSA, I've often wondered how they handle such things, as well as, e.g., NYPD, FDNY by us, as well as.fire and EMS units elsewhere...just another observation....

That certainly quite clever...as also mentioned in the thread, I know nothing about the training itself, I'd merely wondered if USAF SPs, and other svc types suitably trained might be similarly allowed...clearly, NO training is seoarate, one just wonders, as USCG does so much law.enforcement, whether they, or comparable prior military in no police fields might also be allowed somehow...I'd always kinda wondered about that, not just for local law enforcement, but also state trooper stuff, as well as Federal.police, like for VA, in Wash DC, as well as places like the FBI, DEA, Secret Svc, and Marshal academies...it was just a thought obv, I see are for such Federal units when I'm on the website, as opposed to the Android tablet...just wondered....

In most agencies, at least in the past, there was/is points given for prior military service given. Agencies such as the FBI and CIA usually require at least a Bachelors degree for field work. The education requirements vary from agency to agency and venue to venue. Each has their own uniqueness requiring training. Many things to consider for sure.
