Why can't people just be who they are, and if they don't feel good enough, be better???

Stephanie Jones Stephanie, I was a Vietnam veteran when it wasn't cool to be one. In other words I served my time in Vietnam when a lot of men did not want to go including our current President. I think twenty years or so after Vietnam people were coming out of the woodwork claiming to be Vietnam veterans and many of them claiming awards they have not earned if they were even in the service. For many of those who did not serve, they are trying to make up for it by claiming they in. And I think it happened even more so after the first Gulf War. Problem for many of them today is that we have the Internet where things are so much easier to investigate with so much valid information be posted online. And as I said to Joshua Caldwell in the post above you, a small percentage of these posers have mental health issues.

SFC William Farrell - Not that its any comparison, but serial killers are usually sane too. Scary thought there. They have a conscience, but their actions show they don't. Thanks for the education, it helps!

She's a piece of work SGT (Join to see). Now come on now Keith, you've seen my pic and I'm no looker and its downright mean to compare her to a dog. That dog on four legs is pretty good looking. And she even has two Distinguished Marksman badges displayed there and they are few and far between!

Yeah that looks to be a pure BS story. I remember that quite well as I was a Marine MP from Pittsburgh. My mom nearly had a freakin stroke when a Greensburg (30 minutes from Pittsburgh) unit got blown up. She somehow thought that I would know those guys. As I recall then never reacted to the air raid siren and were killed in their tents. There wasnt a lot of heroism to be had, and at the time women were not allowed in combat, so it would have been HUGE news all over the world, if a woman from that unit had been up for a silver star.

SFC William Farrell I agree, you cant be sane and claim to live a life that never happened. Normal people just dont do that.

I am wondering what happened to her in this situation. I just spent a weekend with her. She non stop told everyone, literally, as we walked into restaurants etc, and at the rally, that she was a vet, had ptsd etc etc. plate in her head and broken back from parachuting and something about her thigh. She also fed us two different stories from what I'm reading online now about why she has ptsd (that makes 3 total). One came straight out of a movie I've seen. She mentioned to us about this stolen valor situation and said it wasn't true. But after a week of hanging around her I had to look it up. I plan on asking her straight out. I do not like being lied to. And her lies are piling up. i haven't included them all in this comment.
