Paratroopers are a valuable asset to any military Operation. We can seize bridge, take airfields, cut off retreating force. Tell me what heavy BCT or Stirker BCT can do that in 18hrs or less!

I am a proud All American alumni, and I don't have to be convinced. I think the Army still maintains 5 ABCTs and 1 DIV HQ? Factoring in combat rotations (which despite best intentions, won't end soon), we could probably do without one of them.
As long as it isn't the 82d.

We have the 82nd AB Div, 173RD AB BDE, 25th ID has a BDE(?) 18th AB Corps has a number of brigades that have at least one AB Bn each.

I think we still need them. I was one and it hard work to get those wings it's always good to have them when you need them. You heard ( better to have them and not need them then to need them and not have them ) plus we give the AF something to do and flying hours when they need them. It keeps the planes they use tuned up and ready at all times.
