How do these groups know how much "pollution" entered the water? Marine growth is not pollution. What standing do these groups have to represent the public's interest? No proven harm has been done.

Agreed, there should be a study and samples taken of the Local marine life and the floor of the bay. The biggest pollutant as far as oil and other substances into the ocean is mother nature. There are huge amounts of crude oil that leak out of crevices in undersea oil deposits, as well as sulfur and other chemicals from undersea volcanoes

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel I am, by no means, an environmental "whacko". But certain, obvious, acts of pollution can and should be purposely avoided.

MSgt Stephen Council I'm Pretty Damn Sure You are No "Environmental Whacko" but there have been way too many of these Oops into Sinclair Inlet, When I was there and Since. The Navy's Performance as a Steward of the Environment there has been pretty shameful. Not that we Haven't Tried and put in place many policies and procedures.
