Trump nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

The Nobel Peace Prize as a prestigious award given to those who have "done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses. Recent nominees however may not have reflected this. Does this lower the prestige of receiving the award for future award winners? In the past if someone was given the Nobel Peace Prize it was seen as an honor. Some recipients and nominations however are debatable.

Henry Kissinger and Le Duc Thou, in 1973 were waging a war in Vietnam that was still in progress. (Le Duc Thou declined as he did not feel peach had been reached)

Thousands of people around the world are allowed to make nominations for the prestigious award, including members of parliament and government ministers, former prize winners and some university professors."
