MSgt Kurt Stover - I grew up in Biloxi MS, near the Ingalls shipyard and have several High School friends that have worked there on and off since the 1980's. The layoffs have been happening forever and my welder/shipfitter friends go back and forth between the oil derricks, the shipyards, and even marine salvage.

Oil billionaire t.boone Pickens the guy who spent 5 billion dollars of his money to have alternate energy inventions because of global warming threat maybe he instead should invest a hundred million dollars of his money to help train up the trades. Global warming may be a threat but the biggest threat is not being able to expand our industrial base. Just think we had went from 140,000 to 11 million active duty during World War II but we had two years before World War II starting in 1940. We also had a draft and we also put the National Guard and Army Reserve on one-year orders and we extended the draft from 12 months to 24 just in time for Pearl Harbor.
