That would be “fiscally irresponsible”. Why would I pay for your health care and needed items to keep my end of the contract, when I’d rather see everyone on their day off walk past me? Everyone enjoys a parade or three right?
~sarcasm reply man~I agree with you 100%

It’s an ego thing. If you want to see a really good parade for the troops, go to the local towns who put them on. Not only are they better being genuine, they weave it together to show how the troops are America and America is the troops. Waste of time and money to stroke a fragile ego.

The issue from the left has nothing to do with funding it or anything else made up. It has to do with who is calling for it. Peanuts compared to this failed program.

SFC J Fullerton So, are we to believe your indignation only applies to military, particularly Republican administrations? BTW, I’m not for or against this function and would like more definition of why this major effort by the military and civilian is positively effecting our country as a whole. But, to be fair, I think thousands of military in bands and jocks are a waste of taxpayer dollars.

MCPO Roger Collins - I have no idea what you are implying. For the record, I always voted Republican before it was transformed into whatever it is now. Don't lump me into the "Left" just because I disagree with the current administration. But that is beside the point. My point was that such an expenditure would not have been within the traditional Republican view of fiscal conservatism. Such a grandiose display of the military is something dictatorships do, and has never been an American tradition, except to celebrate a war victory. What purpose does it serve to do this now, and is it worth the money, is the question.

SFC J Fullerton Thought I answered that. BTW, I stopped considering myself a Republican years ago. I contribute and support to conservative individuals. Both parties are corrupt.
