Turkey has been going more and more towards a theocracy over the past few years. This is a disturbing direction as they are a force in that region of the world.

I think Turkey is moving backward in time. They have largely abandoned Ataturk's reforms and will slip further into Islamic governance, with predictable results.

You are correct Sir, imo. I was Chief of Trans 86 to 88 and they have gone significantly backwards since then. Basically the Army failed. Ataturk charged the Army to ensure Turkey's government stayed secular and it fsiled.

That's why I'm happy that our Administration is deciding not to give the F-35 to the Turkish theocracy because we don't want to make the same mistake by giving our F-14 Tomcats to the Shah of Iran only to be overthrown in 1979 and then be a thorn in our side as part of the deranged Iranian theocracy that still wants to Nuke Israel to this day.
