Unarmed civilians to replace San Francisco police on some 911 calls amid cop shortage

...sounds like sending a Social Worker with a Masters Degree into a Domestic ‘dispute’...I always took law enforcement or Military Police escorts when responding to Domestic Violence, Probation and Parole violations, and serious cases of Chid Abuse as I was not authorized to carry a weapon... I was shot at a few times and was definitely glad I had armed backup...just my two cents (based upon real situations)

If they are certified in their profession, give it a shot. It may work.
