The source can't really be described as "unbiased", but they likely have their facts (if not their analysis) straight.
I have to admit that the increase in the numbers of American troops committed to "combat related" roles in Iraq is going faster than I anticipated. It may be difficult to keep pretending that America is NOT involved in yet another shooting war in Iraq by the time that November rolls around.

I am deployed, currently in Kuwait supporting OIR. We have training and assist teams and more going on up north. This summer will be HOT more ways than one.

I hope they give you leave to CENTCOM in QATAR so you can go to the Chilis there and hang out a the pool. I went there on leave for 3 days in 2005 by C-130. We flew from Kirkuk to Kuwait then to Qatar. Select individuals, officers and enlisted, went there for leave though we did not go into town due to the threats to foreign nationals by terrorist groups. This was no different then than now.
