With all the problems in the U.S. and I mean this list is looooong. How does a Senator give a rats butt why a private company screwed up and sent a ship into a storm? No one was hurt...there are problems happening all around where people are hurting and dying.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the company is already conducting an investigation. It would appear that this senator just wants to waste our money and show that he is involved and doing something.

Since it's a FL senator, I'm guessing he's doing it because tourists coming for cruises is a big chunk of the FL economy. So he wants to find out what happened and reassure people it won't happen again.

I'm not defending the senator, but being we just lost that container ship a month ago with all hands, this could be a sore subject with the senator. This could've been catastrophic if they lost power, rudder control, or a ton of other things that could leave a ship stranded in the water.
