I have been saying this for quite awhile. Trumpers accept a caustic president who lies, cheats, and steals. It is mind boggling that we expect more values from army privates than the president of the US.

SSgt William Quinn - It is obvious you don't understand the National Response Framework. If you did you would not make the assertion Trump handled the pandemic properly. You Trumpers who claim he was early and robust planning for the pandemic refer to closing the borders. It tells me you Trumpers are oblivious of the process to prepare for national disasters, and nothing else is noted because nothing else happened except for Trump lying for weeks about the pandemic. That is it. The NFR states:
- Make an early and accurate assessment of the threat.
- Plan and coordinate early:
1. DHS provides overarching leadership to all agencies, entities, departments, NGOs, and ARNORTH. Ultimately FEMA will be given this mission. This leadership is important as a task force must be created to foster roles and responsibilities, sharing of expertise, creating vertical and horizontal communications and support, and incorporating the states to determine how to best support them.
2. HHS will take the medical lead.
- Order requisite supplies early.
- Continue to sustain the fight against the pandemic to support the states.
Trump and his administration did none of that except to sustain the fight. However, that could be improved upon. Trump waited until the pandemic took hold in the country then called national emergency. Supplies were not ordered early for the hospitals and many ran out of PPEs and masks. FEMA was told to start planning after the declaration of national disaster. The planning should have been done much much earlier. If FDR was like Trump, he would call national emergency after German and Japanese armies were in the states. That is what Trump did with the pandemic.
If Trump's planning was early and robust, why do we lead the world in cases and deaths? You think Trump did a great job preparing for the pandemic?

Deflecting attention from the rise in COVID-19 cases, President Donald Trump has repeatedly said the Obama administration “stopped testing” during the H1N1 pandemic. But the two viruses are very different, making the comparison misleading.

God uses the broken vessels for His Glory. Some of the leaders of Gods children in the past have been extremely sinful but chosen by God to do a specific role for Him. One such person that comes to my mind, right off is King David. While he sinned and even committed murder, God said that David was a man after His own heart. Did that mean that God is a murderer? Of course not, what He was saying is that even though David did a serious sin, Murder, God was going to use David for God’s purpose and Glory. Could it be that is the case with Trump? I’m just wondering out loud.

Since you mention King David of the Bible...
1. King David repented for his sins...only after his adviser / prophet Nathan rebuked him
2. King David lost the kingdom of Israel because of his sins. The ancient nation fought a civil war and the infighting included members of his own family

Some of the president’s supporters have taken to comparing him to the biblical monarch.

On point. Funny, that people will believe the reporters but not Bolton who was standing there, apparently, when the president is supposed to have said these things.
