I have no problem with bolstering relations with the two countries what so ever. I just have reservations about the selling of arms to Vietnam. IMO its a slap in the face to those that died there. I know we did the same for Germany and Japan after the war, their governments changed afterwards. Believe me when I say that Vietnam would use those weapons against the USA in a minute, given the opportunity.

China has always been a traditional enemy of Vietnam. Maybe things are changing with Vietnam being bullied by China in the South China Sea. China is the bully now.
