Played college soccer forty years ago. Since then have been a coach and now a referee (10yrs). Most college men's teams can beat the WNT. Any of the younger men's national teams can beat the WNT. When my son was playing club, his U17 team could beat the WNT. The game is not equal, so why should the pay be?
The judge was right in rejecting most of their suit. The WNT signed a contract that did not result in what they expected. The WNT sued to retroactively renegotiate a new contract that would pay them more and yet keep all the benefits of the original contract. In soccer, only the referee can restart the game. The players don't have that power.
Now due to the political activism of the WNT, they will be lucky to earn as much as before.

It is easy to have mixed feelings on this one. Equal pay for equal talent is only right. Is the womens' team as talented as the mens'? Until they play against each other we won't know for sure
