The democrats need to show up with a better approach than zero dollars for the wall. 5 billion on a 4 trillion annual budget spend is peanuts. We all know this is not about the money for the dems it is about denying Trump the optics on the wall and providing real security at the border. Vets groups need to lobby Schumer and Pelosi a bit harder.

SSgt Ray Stone - Nancy Pelosi, democrat, Speaker of the House said not one dollar for the wall, then she said, well, I will give him one dollar. Your down vote is like a big whiney baby cry so have at it Ray, you are truly a lightweight. Below is a story from the UK Daily Mail outlining her comments.

Nancy Pelosi says she will 'give Trump ONE DOLLAR for his wall'
On their first day in the majority, House Democrats on Thursday night passed a plan to re-open the government without funding President Donald Trump's promised border wall.

Cpl Jeff N. - Dems offered 1.3b, you said Zero. Besides Mexico is to fund the wall remember?, he had said that during his racist campaign to garner votes from his cult.

No mention of the new massive caravan heading north? Or the thousands in Mexico trying illegally enter the USA. Or all the unaccompanied children we are caring for.

If you let someone shut down the government as a negotiating tactic and it is successful, we can be pretty sure they will keep doing it to make the other side cave. I've always been under the opinion if someone shuts down the government, either a Democrat or Republican, the other side should never give in to that sort of tactic.

Perhaps there should be a constitutional amendment that automatically unseats both houses of the Federal legislature, and bars re-election for not less than two years if a budget is not passed by both houses and ready to be implemented by September 30th, as the new fiscal year starts on October 1st.
