Yeah, Uncle Herman was a forward air controller with the 101st at Bastogne which meant he was an infantryman with a radio to talk to any close air support that was available; and the weather did not cooperate much for that. Absolutely refused later to ever campout with his family or when we went hunting and had no tolerance for being cold.
