I don’t see the big deal. The Commissaries and PX are generally overpriced, overcrowded, and there’s always a chance of running into some grumpy lady trying to cut the line, barking, “do you know who my husband is??”

I avoided the commissary and PX at all cost, even when I was still in.

Sgt Kelli Mays - it’s really not a big deal. Certainly not grumpy about it. If folks want to make the drive for overpriced stuff, more power to them.

When AD, I used the BX and Commissary regularly. Now, for years, subsequent to retirement, most local grocery chains have better quality merchandise and Amazon beats the socks off the BX. That’s one of the great things, choice.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen yes they do and is probably why they made this change. I go to the commissary with my dad. It's usually not very busy...not like it was when I was a kid growing up on base.

Sgt Kelli Mays We only use it when we are on base for something else these days. You can still save on certain items but do your homework.
