What exactly does Lindsey Graham know about winning a war? We have tried the hearts and minds stuff, a bunch of COIN strategy and we are still at war in the middle east in the same two countries we started in with others becoming more instable and problematic (Libya, Yemen, Iran etc).
I wonder what our soft power plan was against Germany and Japan or was the plan to beat them into surrender first and then we can fix things. We used the Marshall Plan after the war ended from an economic perspective. Now we try to rebuild their economy in the middle of the fight. We try to prop up leadership and have elections before the war is over. I am not sure that strategy is working. Because we are now in the longest war in the history of our country with no end in sight. Maybe it is time to consider something else?

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - Anyone in the armed forces can deploy to the sandbox. That doesn't mean they know squat about winning wars. Look how many years we have been there and how many people have deployed and we are still there. Time to try something different wouldn't you think?
