There are so many issues here. Yes, you are correct. We should be alarmed that systems were hacked, but keep in mind it's only because they were run by amateurs. The real issue in that case is that we came so close to electing those amateurs and giving them the reins of government. That these people (especially Hillary) had so little regard (contempt) for our adversaries that she never game security a second thought. Of equal concern to me is the content of the information that was hacked. This is the kind of thing our Fourth Estate should have been alerting us to. Sadly, they are so in bed with the Progressive Movement that they are now their Fifth Column and we had to rely on some "nefarious" sources (Russia?) to alert us to the danger. There are other concerns but ultimately the one that concerns me the most is the utter lack of regard (interest) that so many Americans have for the issues raised, that they voted for Hillary by the millions. Those people worry me the most.

You are missing the point. There is clear evidence that the republicans were hacked to but to manipulate and embarrass Clinton only the DNC, and Podesta emails were released. None from Hillary's server by the way, it seems to have been the safest one. We keep getting letters from the DoD that our personal information my have been hacked. There was also several states who's voter registration system was hacked. So it was not just the democrats. You have been blinded by your hate of the democrats to see the full picture.

SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint yes and no. The fact that there were no protections on their server should be a concern. What should be more of a concern is is what was discovered from the hack.
The voting machines, themselves, could not be hacked because they're not connected to the internet. To hack it, you would have to be in proximity to them, or direct link to them. I doubt there were that many agents during election day.

It was proven that it is very easy to hack those machines. When they do hook up to the internet to calibrate software can be downloaded to flip votes in a certain order. When not connected. It had been proven before the election.

While the US has been battling cyber issues for years (The USAF has an actual Cyber Command), there has been no clear strategy on the national level. The fact is that it has not become important enough for them to put the needed dollars into it. Hopefully, now it will be.

I'm sure they are very competent.. as long as obama's hacks weren't allowed anywhere
