You don't have to like him, but President Obama is right on this one. We don't get to pick and choose which amendments we fight for. All of them are equal, and must be preserved, even when it flies in the face of everything we hold dear. Once we begin to pick and choose, we leave ourselves open to anger and anarchy; some of which we are dealing with now.

Remember when in Uniform you have to follow the law. You can not criticize government officials. You cannot pick and choose which right or part of or content in the Constitution you want to protect. You have to protect the entire document and its content. Those of us out of uniform have the right to criticize our government officials and will be your voice if you need someone to be an advocate. Protect you career and do the right thing and get an advocate to speak up for you. VFW, American Legion or a retired or separated Veteran.

Never ever use "President Obama" and "right" in the same sentence, paragraph, or page. Use "correct". Don't use it often. He rarely is correct but he is in this case. Yes, the NFL players have the right to be wrong. That's their prerogative just as it's ours to tune them out when they do it. I know there are a lot of fuses burning because of crossed circuits in the brains of sports fans. They need their football fix and simply can't turn away when these idiots demonstrate that they went to college to be indoctrinated as well as audition for brief, high-paying careers.

Actually no. You fit the standard of lawyer, so what would be the big deal? You could start some change in there, and maybe be the one who turns it around. I cannot do it, being I have too many skeletons, no degree in anything yet, damn sure won't be in law or medicine, not primped and pressed, I'm vulgar, run off with the gums too much (gets me in LOADS of trouble), don't know how to properly use the right fork or spoon, Don't know which wine is best with certain meals, and I'm an enlisted man. I don't care much for politics, and would be the shortest serving congressman in the history of the US. I would hurt so many feelings, and not care just to be fired from an elected position. Add the facts that if I could, I'd want to be real with those who voted me in and take care of them, that is not a popular position, and I hate people.

CPT Jack Durish - Yes that is the attitude to a point that has gotten us where we are now. At the same time, you have to know when you're outgunned, I know right now and for the rest of my life, I'll be outgunned mentally in some ways, and I cannot overcome that. I learn more on here than on the news, but I cannot retain half of it.

I honestly don't see the big deal. Until 2009 the players wasn't even on the field during the anthem. But the government paid the NFL to show this fake patriotism. If he doesn't want to stand then don't.
