There are indeed two markets. What they call Retail and away from home. It is true more people are home but a family of four might use 1-2 rolls per day on the high side. For a month long lock down which isn't even a lockdown, you can still go shopping, you might need 45 rolls. People are buying 100 rolls, 200 rolls etc.

The issue this creates is that most manufacturers make both so they have to go into production on retail items which means they are not producing away from home products which is what hospitals, healthcare facilities, government and most other places open use. This is a sugar high for the plants.

What is happening right now, when most plants take down time, is they are running at full capacity and foregoing preventative maintenance on equipment. When this all settles down their machines, which are very expensive capital assets, will be sitting idle because everyone is sitting on piles of toilet paper.

Went to the store yesterday. Northern Michigan seems to be over the TP hysteria. The shelves were full and no limits on how many you purchase. Hard liquour and wine are in short supply now. My theory is people are finding out just how obnoxious there kids are when you've got them 24 hours, 7 days a week, and its cold outside. Remedy 2 parts sugar 1 part bourbon and little Joey and Jane sleep real good.

I bet three months from now there will be books on the best sellers list about how to spank your kids without going to jail.

People that have not raised their kids to have respect for adults or authority are probably getting a dose of reality right now that moonshine will not deaden. Spankings will become resurgent. Hopefully not to the point of abuse but parents with disrespectful kids will have to deal with it head on now.

Maj John Bell - That's good to hear. Hopefully that will soon trickle down to FL as I am still not seeing any paper products in grocery stores. Have officially dipped into my Hurricane stores.

This makes so much sense that it's a wonder it wasn't brought up before now. Hopefully, supply & demand even out soon!
