As a trainee that got out of boot camp recently I have to say a few things. One, BCT seems a lot easier to me now then it was back then, we do the same trainning at the same places even (within the respective BCT bases) but it just isn't as tough because a lot of the drill sgts can't push you to do as much as they used too. Drill sgts have to rely more on New Start Over now than anything else, and even then usually the CO wants to protect his graduation rate and not fill out paper work so he swats the idea down. So the most they can do is pt you unless "it's too hot outside." It's ridiculous how the regulations are now a days for heat casualty prevention, we often times had to stop trainning because of it. The army is too PC now for sure, which in and of itself is ok, but it has had an effect on our trainning and will allow more people to slip by.
