That's a wonderful story!
I have to agree that the "mindblowing" discoveries in genealogy research are amazingly precious epiphanies that not only provide deeper personal understanding and roots, but also connects us more personally with our nation's history (and nations from which some ancestors emigrated). When we learn about the history of the communities our ancestors were part of its like actually being there and experiencing those times and places, ourselves.

I've been looking for my great grandfather. The only thing that I heard was that he immigrated from Spain to Louisiana. I am still looking into that allegation. What would you recommend?

SPC Chelsea Fernandez - I have had some real good luck with ancestry.com. But the foreign info can get expensive.
