The 12th Amendment covers this process. Ryan would be acting POTUS until the House votes for a new POTUS from the top three electoral college vote getters or the House decides on a new speaker (more on that in a bit). If they don't do it by March, then the presidency falls to the vice president who is elected by the top two VP vote getters by the Senate. So for Ryan to remain acting POTUS both the house and senate would have to remain deadlocked and he'd have to remain speaker.
Also, the votes in the House are different than normal. Only 50 will be cast, representing the will of 2/3 of each state's delegates. We'd have to know the composition of the House and the Senate after the election because that will have a huge impact on if the lame duck House and Senate want to push something through before the composition changes. If the composition changes enough, it is also possible Ryan will no longer be speaker of the House as the new membership may want a new speaker.

Pure speculation. We have two legally elected nominees with a chance of winning the office of POTUS. It will be Hillary or Trump. Both flawed candidates just as past presidents have been

Master Chief, if this is how it would be done, how can it be speculation. This is from the electoral college's site. We do have two imbeciles running for office, but the GOP wants Trump gone. There is no doubt about that. If Trump makes it hard to where this begins, it'll be interesting to see how it plays out, and what comes of it.

SSG Warren Swan - This action would be the equivalent of pulling the pin on a grenade and holding it. They would never recover, but it seems that protecting the establishment is more important conservative ideals.

MCPO Roger Collins - I agree. What gets me is they saw what Romney did with the 47% comment and how things went downhill from there, they did an AAR on why they lost in 12, how in the hell did they not implement those changes? Not a single thing has been changed except the buffoon representing them. It's almost like irregardless of Trump, they were determined to screw themselves over and did a bang up job of it.

SSG Warren Swan - Podesta and Hillary are happy campers, all they have to do is throw another log on the fire occasionally. And I'll bet they have a large supply of logs. The Rs will take care of the rest.
