SGT John " Mac " McConnell This is great but it's too bad it's taken so long for this to happen.

Capt (Join to see) - I can't agree more. So often these awards were delayed because of the person's gender, race, or creed.

That was a good story SGT John " Mac " McConnell. It is a shame that people were often discriminated against by race, religion, color, sexual orientation, gender, whatever! It should not have happened. I am really getting tired about hearing about a Congressional Gold Medal though. This woman was in the Army; it seems to me her award should be an Army of DOD award. A Legion of Merit while a nice honor should be upgraded to something higher. I believe the time she was operating was still wartime and if her deeds were heroic and valorous, than something along those lines. I hope her family gets what she deserved all these years ago.
