Why Isn't There a Palestinian State?

Because their nation never formalized into a state. That and they really seem to want to avoid any compromise...regardless of the costs

A few oversimplifications but overall a very accurate historical picture of the situation. Hard to sign up for a two state solution when one of those states has the declared goal to eradicate the other.

The so-called "Palestinians" began as people who left the newly declared state of Israel because the combined armies of Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq told them to get out of the way so that they could kill all of the Jews. Then, they could come back in and share the land with the other Arabs. Surprise, Israel won, and has won every war since. The Pals are a convenient source of terrorists and international angst among I'll-informed soft-heads around the world. They have never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity in their brief and ugly history.
