On 9-11-2002 I was at the 2002 Special Operations Conference. A US Navy SEAL LT CDR was awarded his second Navy and Marine Corps Medal by SEC DEF Rumsfeld.
This SEAL had been in the Navy Operations Center on 9-11-2001 when it collapsed. By God's grace he held up at I-beam which allowed people to escape the from the operations center.

LTC Stephen F. To Destroy that Many Human Beings, To Destroy the Work of My Technicians, I can't Understand that Level of Hate. We Were Geeks, Wanting to Better the World thru Technology. Why are So Many Afraid and Angry about the Technicians, Engineers, Scientist and Astronauts that I called "Shipmates". I don't get it.
