With September around the corner, now is the time to clear and fertilize outdoor gardens

I can hardly wait until I am physically able to get outdoors.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel September is when I add lime to my garden. It takes about six months (so I'm told) to make a difference in the pH of your soil. Without additional lime my tomatoes start rotting on the bottom (blossom end rot). I take in a soil sample each year to the agriculture extension office to see what I need to do to improve my soil.
